Players are recent immigrants to the newly populated island of Catan. Expand your colony through the building of settlements, roads and villages by harvesting commodities from the land around you. Trade sheep, lumber, bricks and grain for a settlement, bricks and wood for a road, or try to complete other combinations for more advanced buildings, services and specials.
Trade with other players, or at local seaports to get resources you might lack. The first player to achieve 10 points from a combination of roads, settlements and special cards wins.

Dark clouds are gathering over the peaceful island of Catan. Wild barbarians, attracted by the wealth of Catan, sailed to attack the country. Fortunately, warning has given Catan time to meet the danger. The size of the barbarian army corresponds to the number of cities in Catan. Thus, for Catan to fend off the barbarian attack, the players must form a knight force as strong as the barbarian force.
In addition to fending off the barbarians, players compete to build the three great metropolises of Catan. Each of these magnificent centers are worth two additional victory points. To build a metropolis, players must invest in city improvements. To acquire these improvements, players must acquire the three new types of Trade Cards: Coinage, Paper and Cloth. These cards can only be gained by building a city next to mountain, forest, or pasture hexes.

The Great River of Catan challenges Catan fans to race for the gold by building settlements and roads alongside the river tile. The 4th edition of The Settlers of Catan (Settlers-2007)provides an outer frame that encloses the 19 hexes that make up the island of Catan. This adapter kit provides that frame, the frame extension pieces for the 5-6 player extension, and the harbor pieces that allow you to vary the harbor locations from game to game.
This adapter kit also allows you to use the Catan: Seafarers 4th edition with 3rd or pre-2007 editions of Settlers, MFG0483).

This edition features three dimensional hand painted tiles made of heavyweight resin and a complete interlocking border. The Merchant marker, Barbarian Ship and the three Robbers are also sculpted in fine resin and hand painted. The special wood case is designed to keep your set safe and will feature a special slotted level with slots to hold each hex.
Resource, development and commodity cards are finely crafted in full color casino stock and stored in three small plastic trays. You never give up! Despite the long journey to your new homeland and the loss of everything you owned, you have made it: you are a settler of Catan!
You begin with nothing more than your own two hands and each day will bring you a host of new experiences and adventures. Hunting bears and wolves? Building trunks and furniture? Working hides and skins? Not a problem for you! But soon you grow tired with simply roaming the island.
Your goal is to settled down with a roof over your head, sheep to breed and a field to sow your grain. To do this, you will need the help of the other settlers in the village. Easily done! If you supply a sword to Jared, he will give you a bag of seeds in return. Osmund needs a new chest and offers you some sheep. Candamir would like new windows and can help you build your new house.
Again and again you head out for the wilderness, hunting bears and wolves, collecting honey and rare herbs. But you must be cautious!

Hire workers, acquire building materials. What will your next build be? The competition is eager to excel and claim all of the credit! Limited resources early on will limit players to a few small buildings. Your influential connections will provide you with all the necessary building permits. In Elasund, nothing works without building permits!
Once buildings are constructed, they can generate either gold or influence for you. Soon you can start going after bigger projects! Soon enough you may become involved in grander projects, such as building the church or the city walls. Beware of your competitors! They may try to leverage their way into your neighborhood with their own permits!
If you don't watch them closely enough, they might attempt a hostile takeover of your buildings!

Each player has a set of buildings to place. Placing a building uses a whole wagon load of resources: 1 each of wood, bricks and wheat.
The roll of the die determines how far the wagons will move. When any child stops beside a resource that they need, they can load the resource into their wagon.
When your wagon is full, you get to build a new house! The house must be placed in the right spot in the village. Then the resources are returned to the board so they can be collected again!
After you build all your houses, you begin collecting resources again to build the Town Hall. The player who builds the Town Hall wins the game!
Of course, children are also encouraged to play with the wonderful wooden buildings and to create their own games and adventures in Catan!

The foray into space, sometime near the year 2700 A.D. Compete for the prestigious post of Ambassador to the Galactic Council. To attain this lofty position, players must leave Terra and the known planets to explore and colonize the galaxy, while working to establish trade with alien cultures, encounter aliens and defeat pirates. Glory and victory go to the brave and astute explorer who luck smiles upon.
The known worlds lie at one end of the game board where each of the 3 or 4 players begin from known solar systems, each with 3 planets producing raw materials needed for the travels into deep space.
Each player begins with 2 Colonies and a Space Port (all components are made from plastic). The Space Port makes starships to transport your new colonies and trade posts to distant lands. Throughout the game all the colonies and spaceports enable the production of resources when the dice match the numbers of adjacent planets. Resources are traded for colony ships, trade ships and fleet upgrades of freight rings, booster rockets and cannon. Beware as you explore - some planets are covered in ice and some conceal dangerous pirates.

In a flash, two Starfarers from the Catan space fleet have been thrown through a mysterious wormhole into an unknown galaxy. Lost, dazed and unable to find their way home and with limited resources, the brave explorers face a seemingly hopeless situation, until they meet four peaceful alien races. These friendly aliens offer them limited aid and will guide them home if they can meet the high standards required for entrance into the Galactic Advisory Council.
